Underused Temples to Host Escape Rooms on Friday Nights

In a groundbreaking move aimed at revitalizing community engagement and making use of underutilized spaces, local church leaders have announced that empty temples will be transformed into escape rooms every Friday night, starting next month. The initiative, dubbed “Escape to Eternity,” is designed to provide a fun and interactive way for members and non-members alike to experience the sacred spaces in a new light.
The decision comes in response to the growing trend of escape rooms across the country, which have become popular venues for team-building exercises, family outings, and social gatherings. Church officials believe that this innovative approach will not only attract a younger audience but also foster a sense of community among participants.
“We realized that our temples are often quiet and underused during the week, especially on Friday nights,” said Elder John Smith, a member of the local leadership council. “By offering escape rooms, we can create a unique experience that combines fun, teamwork, and a little bit of mystery–all while showcasing the beauty of our sacred spaces.”
Participants will be tasked with solving puzzles and riddles that draw on themes from church history, scripture, and community values. Each escape room will feature a different storyline, ranging from “The Lost Manuscript” to “The Quest for the Golden Jell-O Salad,” ensuring that there’s something for everyone.
Local youth groups have already expressed excitement about the initiative, with many planning to use the escape rooms as a fun alternative to traditional Friday night activities. “It’s a great way to hang out with friends and do something different,” said 17-year-old Sarah Johnson. “Plus, I can’t wait to see how they incorporate church history into the puzzles!”
To ensure a smooth experience, church leaders have partnered with professional escape room designers who will help create immersive environments that provide an entertaining challenge without offending the Holy Ghost.
Tickets for “Escape to Eternity” will go on sale next week at a discounted rate of $120 per group. Church officials are optimistic that the initiative will not only bring in revenue but also foster a renewed interest in the temples and their significance.
As the first Friday night approaches, excitement is building within the community. “We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to our temples in a new and engaging way,” Elder Rockwell added. “Who knows? Maybe some will even find their way back to the gospel while trying to escape!”
